Bladex joined a beach cleanup day alongside Marea Verde
As part of Oceans Month, Bladex took part in a beach cleanup day alongside Marea Verde and other partner companies from the Siete Cuencas program.
The event brought together hundreds of volunteers committed to protecting the environment, including more than 340 volunteers from the Siete Cuencas community. Thanks to this collective effort, we were able to collect:
- +2,670 bags of waste
- +36 plastic drums
- +80 household appliance parts
- +71 car parts
This activity carries special significance because, thanks to the new barrier installed by Marea Verde in Río Abajo, much of the solid waste will be intercepted before reaching the sea. Thus, the beach cleanup not only removes debris but also reinforces an awareness effort to prevent waste from entering rivers and, ultimately, the ocean.
“These types of initiatives show how collaboration among companies, organizations, and citizens can accelerate the recovery of our ecosystems and drive a cultural shift toward responsible waste management,” said Jessica Janson, VP of Corporate Communications and Social Investment.
Bladex will continue to participate in collective actions to contribute to the sustainable development of the region and the preservation of our natural resources.
